Operate While Intoxicated:

At 12:39 AM, Deputies were notified of a vehicle at a closed, private business, in the N2500 block of Richland Rd, Town of Sylvester.  After an investigation, Tommy Campos, 30, Milwaukee, was arrested for OWI 2nd offense (alcohol).  Campos was jailed and later released to a responsible party.

MVC - Property Damage:

At 5:12 PM, Deputies responded to a property damage crash in the W700 block of Decatur Rd, Town of Decatur.  Jason D Borntrager, 23, Evansville, was eastbound when his pickup went straight off a 90 degree turn in the road.  The pickup struck the ditch, a traffic sign, and a fence.  Borntrager was cited for Operate without Motor Vehicle Insurance, and warned for failure to keep vehicle under control.  He was released with a court date.

MVC/OWI - Alcohol:

At 7:14 PM, Deputies responded to a two vehicle crash in the N8900 block of Argue Rd, Town of New Glarus.  Tyler R Gordon, 31, New Glarus, was southbound when he crossed the center of the roadway, and collided with a northbound vehicle operated by Jeffrey Scott Jacka, 43, New Glarus.  Both drivers reported wearing their seatbelts and denied injuries.  Gordon’s vehicle sustained disabling front driver’s side damage, and had airbag deployment.  Jacka’s vehicle sustained disabling driver’s side damage, but had no airbag deployment.  Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Gordon was arrested for OWI 1st - Alcohol.  He was cited for Operating Left of Center, OWI 1st, and Prohibited Alcohol Concentration - 1st offense.  Gordon was released to a responsible party, pending a court appearance.

New Glarus EMS and Fire Department assisted at the scene.

Drug/Narcotic Violation

At 1:55 PM, Deputies responded to the N4200 block of Country Club Dr., in the Town of Decatur, for a report of a suspicious vehicle.  The investigation resulted in Steven F. Kind, 27, of Orangeville, being placed under arrest for Possession of Heroin, Possession of Psilocybin, Possession of THC, Possession of a Prescription Medication without a Prescription, and two counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Kind was later incarcerated at the Green County Jail pending court.

MVC - Injury:

At 5:11 PM, GRSO deputies, along with Lafayette County deputies, Argyle EMS and Fire Department, Blanchardville EMS, and GC EMS responded to a rollover crash with injuries in the W8000 block of CTH C, Town of Adams. German Danilo Amaya Murillo, 46, Darlington, was westbound when the driver's rear tire blew out.  German lost control of the vehicle, and crossed the center line, entering the east ditch, traveling up and then down the embankment, before re-entering the roadway, and rolling over.  The vehicle came to rest on its tires facing west.  The vehicle sustained overall disabling damage and was towed from the scene.  There was no airbag deployment.

German sustained non-life threatening injuries.  Front seat passenger, Santos Genaro Murillo-Salgado, 47, Monticello, sustained non-life threatening injuries.  Rear driver's side passenger, Oscar Hermando Velazquez, 54, Monticello, sustained non-life threatening injuries  Rear passenger side passenger Wilfredo Lanza Diaz, 38, Monticello, sustained possible life-threatening injuries.  All occupants were reported to be wearing seatbelts, and all were transported to SSM via ambulances.   

German was cited for Operating W/O a Valid DL, Causing Injury.  He was released pending court.

MVC - Property Damage:

At 5:22 PM, while operating with emergency lights and sirens activated on the way to an injury crash, a GRSO deputy struck a deer.  Sergeant Dani Jackson was northbound in the N4400 block of CTH J, Town of Monroe, when a deer entered the roadway and collided with the squad car.  Sgt. Jackson was wearing a seatbelt and was uninjured.  There was no airbag deployment.  The squad sustained functional damage to the pushbar and grill, and was driven from the scene.  Lafayette County Sheriff investigated the crash.

Operating While under the Influence

At 2:42 AM, Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding in the W5200 block of STH 11, in the Town of Monroe.  The investigation resulted in the driver, Richard J. Curran, 54, of Monroe, being placed under arrest for Operating While under the Influence.  Curran was additionally cited for speeding.  Curran was later released to a responsible party pending court. 

Motor Vehicle Crash – Property Damage

At 5:39 PM, Deputies responded to the W4400 block of Exeter Crossing Rd., in the Town of Exeter, for a reported single vehicle crash without injury.  The investigation found that the driver, Nathan J. Hendrickson, 17, of New Glarus, was traveling eastbound when he lost control of his vehicle due to icy road conditions.  Hendrickson then entered the south ditch and then traveled into a nearby river.   Hendrickson advised he was uninjured and wearing his seatbelt at the time of incident.  Hendrickson’s vehicle sustained disabling damage, without airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene.

Motor Vehicle Crash – Property Damage

At 4:04 AM, Deputies responded to the N8800 block of Poplar Grove Rd. for a reported single vehicle crash with no injuries.  The driver, Cade S. Howell, 23, of New Glarus, advised he was traveling southbound when he lost control of his vehicle and entered the ditch. Howell advised he was wearing his seatbelt at the time of incident and he was uninjured.   Howell’s vehicle sustained disabling damage, with no airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene.

Motor Vehicle Crash – Property Damage

At 12:33 PM, Deputies responded to the N6500 block of CTH N, in the Town of Washington, for a reported two vehicle crash without injuries.  The investigation found that Rudenko O. Phipps, 43, of Newport News, VA, was traveling northbound and began turning into a nearby parking lot.  George M. Ellis, 44, of Freeport, was traveling northbound behind Phipps and later collided with the trailer Phipps was hauling.   Phipps and Ellis advised they were both wearing their seatbelts and were uninjured.  Ellis’ vehicle sustained disabling damage, with no airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene.  Phipps’ vehicle sustained no damage, with no airbag deployment, and was driven from the scene.   

ATV Crash – Personal Injury

At 6:22 PM, Deputies, along with Albany EMS and Albany FD, responded to the 300 block of E. Main St., in the Village of Albany, for a reported ATV crash with injury.  The investigation found that Justin W. Hartwig, 39, of Albany, was traveling westbound when the ATV lost traction due to snow and ice on the road.  The ATV then slid into the eastbound lane, where it over turned.  The ATV sustained minor damage and was removed from the scene.   Hartwig was not wearing a helmet or eye protection and was later transported to the Hospital for further medical treatment.   

Warrant Arrest

At 7:41 PM, Deputies responded to the W4000 block of CTH W, in the Town of Exeter, where James M. Doyle, 38, was placed under arrest for an active Arrest Warrant through the Department of Corrections.  Doyle was later incarcerated at the Green County Jail pending court.

MVC - Personal Injury:

At 3:55 AM, Deputies and Blanchardville EMS responded to the N9200 block of STH 78, in the Town of York, for a report of a one vehicle rollover with injuries.  Eduardo Davila Orozco, 50 of Blanchardville, was traveling northbound when he lost control of his vehicle due to the road conditions.  Eduardo reported wearing his seatbelt but suffered non-life threatening injuries, and was transported by EMS to an area hospital.  Edwardo has no insurance on the vehicle.  There was no airbag deployment, and the vehicle sustained disabling damage.  The vehicle was towed from the scene. Eduardo was cited for operating a motor vehicle without a license, and failure to maintain control.  He was released with a court date.

MVC - Property Damage

At 7:14 AM, Deputies responded to the W5200 block of CTH KK, Town of Monroe, for a report of a vehicle in the ditch.  Jared Nipple, 32, Monroe, was eastbound on CTH KK when he failed to negotiate the curve, entered the ditch and struck an embankment. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and had no airbag deployment. Jared reported wearing his seatbelt and was uninjured. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

ACCIDENT-PD

At 5:05 AM, Deputies responded to a  single vehicle crash in the W8700 block of STH 39, in the Town of York.  An investigation revealed that a vehicle operated eastbound  by Maljorie D. Lopez,18, of Darlington, hit loose gravel on the roadway and lost control.  The vehicle entered the ditch, striking the embankment, and coming to rest in the south ditch. Lopez reported that she was not injured,  was wearing her seatbelt and airbag deployment in the vehicle.  The vehicle was towed from the scene.  Lopez was cited for  Operating w/o a valid driver's license and operating w/o insurance. Lopez was verbally warned for failure to maintain control.

MVC - Personal Injury:

At 4:57 AM, deputies responded to a one vehicle crash in the N5500 block of Walnut Road, Town of Washington.  Daniel R Prien, 19, Monroe was eastbound on Buckskin Road, when he lost control of his vehicle, due to road conditions. The vehicle then went off the roadway onto Walnut Road, and struck a tree.  Daniel reported not wearing his seatbelt, and was injured.  There was airbag deployment.  The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. 

MVC - Personal Injury:

At 7:04 PM, deputies, along with Green County EMS and Browntown Fire Department responded to a crash in the N2100 block of Allen Rd, Town of Cadiz. Ronald Norris, 81, Browntown, was northbound when his vehicle left the west side of the roadway, traveled down an embankment, and crashed into the creek. Ronald was wearing his seatbelt and sustained injuries.  He was transported to a local hospital via ambulance. 

Ronald’s vehicle sustained disabling damage, and had airbag deployment.  The vehicle was towed from the scene.

Traffic Offense:

At 7:06 AM, Deputies stopped a vehicle for speeding in the N4200 block of STH 69, Town of Monroe.  Jonathan A Neblock, 29, of Orangeville, was cited for operating a motor vehicle without insurance and operating without a valid DL.  Neblock was released with a court date.

MVC - Property Damage:

At 8:23 PM, Deputies responded to a single vehicle crash in the W6600 block of STH 81, Town of Monroe.  Seth M Schmidt, 18, of Monroe, was eastbound when he advised he slid on some ice, and lost control of the vehicle.  Schmidt struck a guardrail on the southside of the road ,and then a guardrail post.  The vehicle slid along the guardrail until it struck a guardrail post, and turned onto its side.  Schmidt reported wearing his seatbelt and was uninjured.  There was no airbag deployment, and the vehicle sustained disabling damage.  The vehicle was towed from the scene.

At 11:46 AM Deputies were called to a residence in the W5200 block of Village View Cir in the Town of New Glarus, for a report of a person who entered the residence without permission.  Kyle J Kempfer, 23, Monticello, was taken into custody and jailed pending court appearance, or posting of bond.

At 2:36 PM, Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a speed violation in the N3300 block of STH 69, Town of Monroe.  Investigation resulted in the operator, Ashley S. Jordan, 34 of Freeport, being cited for speeding, possession of THC, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Jordan was released ending court.

Larson, 27, of Rock City, being placed under arrest for Operating While under the Influence and Obstructing.   Larson was later incarcerated at the Green County Jail pending court.

Motor Vehicle Crash – Property Damage

At 6:56 AM, Deputies responded to the N1000 block of CTH K, in the Town of Jefferson, for a single vehicle crash without injury.  The driver, Hayden A. Valdivia, 21, of Dakota, advised he was traveling northbound when a southbound vehicle traveled into his lane.  Valdivia said he then swerved into the east shoulder to avoid a collision, lost control of his vehicle, and then entered the west ditch where he struck a culvert and fence.  Valdivia advised he was uninjured and wearing his seatbelt.  The vehicle sustained disabling damage, with airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene.  

Operating While under the Influence

At 6:50 PM, Deputies responded to the W1800 block of Purintun Rd., in the Town of Albany, for a vehicle parked in the roadway.  The investigation resulted in the driver, Eric J. Thompson, 41, of Albany, being placed under arrest for Operating While under the Influence and Resisting an Officer.   Thompson was additionally cited for Possession of Open Intoxicants in his vehicle.  Thompson was later incarcerated at the Green County Jail pending court.

Domestic Abuse & Child Abuse:

At 5:59 PM GRSO Deputies, Belleville PD, and Monticello PD were called to a report of domestic abuse at a residence in the W3800 block of Exeter Crossing Rd, Town of Exeter.  After an investigation, Amador Rojas, 32, Belleville, was arrested for Domestic DC, Simple Battery, and 3 counts of Physical Abuse to a Child.  Rojas was jailed.  Green County Detectives and Green County Human Services- Children Youth & Families also assisted at the scene.

Probation & Parole Violation

At 3:00 PM, Deputies responded to the 2800 block of 6^th St. (Probation & Parole), in the City of Monroe, where Hunter S. Santoro, 21, of Monroe, was taken into custody for a Probation hold.  Santoro was later incarcerated at the Green County Jail. 

Motor Vehicle Crash – Property Damage

At 5:34 PM, Deputies responded to the N8000 block of STH 69, in the Town of New Glarus, for a two-vehicle crash without injuries.  The investigation found that Yuquetzi A. Juarez, 32, of Belleville, was traveling northbound, when she stopped for traffic ahead of her turning.  A vehicle behind Juarez, driven by Ping Jin, 69, of Madison, could not slow down to avoid Juarez and then turned onto the shoulder of the road, where she struck the passenger's side of Juarez's vehicle.   Juarez and Jin both advised they were uninjured and wearing their seatbelts.  Both vehicles involved sustained minor damage, with no airbag deployment, and were driven from the scene. 

Drug/Narcotic Violation

At 7:37 PM, Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Carlos Eduardo Alonso Hernandez, 29, of Monticello, for a driver’s license violation in the N5900 block of STH 69, in the Town of Mt. Pleasant.  The investigation resulted in Alonso Hernandez being cited for Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Operating without a Valid Driver's License.  Alonso Hernandez was later released pending court.

Motor Vehicle Crash – Property Damage

At 5:12 PM, Deputies responded to the N6200 block of Cemetery Rd., in the Town of Mt. Pleasant, for a reported single vehicle crash without injuries.  The investigation found that Carolyn K. Johnson, 77, of Monticello, was traveling northbound when she swerved to avoid a southbound vehicle that appeared to be entering her lane of travel.  Johnson then entered the shoulder where she collided with two mailboxes and a road sign then entered the ditch, where she later struck a culvert and then the vehicle came to a rest.  Johnson was uninjured and wearing her seatbelt.  Johnson’s vehicle sustained disabling damage, with no airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene.

The following events occurred on December 1, 2024:

MVC - Personal Injury:

At 1:03 PM, Deputies along with  Brooklyn EMS and Brooklyn FD responded to the W1200 block of King Rd, Town of Brooklyn, for a report of a single vehicle accident.  A FedEX cargo van operated by Mohamed L Mohamed, 47, of Madison, was eastbound when his vehicle entered the south ditch. Mohamed's vehicle proceeded down into the ditch where it struck a tree. Mohamed reported injuries, reported wearing his seatbelt, and there was airbag deployment within the vehicle.  Mohamed's vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.

Traffic Offense:

At 6:18 PM, Deputies stopped a vehicle for a registration violation in the W600 block of STH 81, Town of Spring Grove.  Carlos E Ortiz Borregales, 29, Chicago, IL, was cited for Non-Registration of an Auto and Open Intoxicants in a Motor Vehicle.  He was released with a court date.

Drug/Narcotic Violation:

At 8:28 PM, Deputies stopped a vehicle for a speeding violation in the N1900 block of STH 69, Town of Clarno.  McKenzie Bennett, 22, Freeport, IL, was cited for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and warned for the speeding violation.  He was released with a court date.

The following incidents occurred on Thursday, November 28^th, 2024:

CRIMINAL ARREST:

At approximately 12:33 AM, Deputies responded to the W6700 block of Farmers Grove Rd, Town of New Glarus, after receiving an automated crash alert notification.

Investigations resulted in Dustin A Trumpy, 30, of Monticello, being arrested for Endangering Safety of Others. Trumpy was incarcerated at the Green County Jail pending court.

CRIMINAL ARREST:

At approximately 3:10 AM, Deputies responded to the W7900 block of State Highway 11, Town of Cadiz, for a report of Disorderly Conduct.

Investigations resulted in Nathan W Restivo, 45, of South Wayne, being arrested for Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest, and Bail Jumping. Restivo was incarcerated at the Green County Jail. 

DRUG/NARCOTIC VIOLATION:

At approximately 7:59 PM, Deputies performed a traffic stop on a vehicle in the W3600 block of State Highway 11, Town of Sylvester, for a speeding violation.

Investigations resulted in the driver Hansel A.M. Zepeda, 23, of South Beloit being cited for possession of THC, operating while revoked, and speeding. 

Zepeda was released with a court date.

ACCIDENT-PI

At 6:02 AM, Deputies, along with Blanchardville EMS,  responded to the W8800 blk of Yankee Hollow Rd, York Township, for a motor vehicle crash with injuries. Investigation found that a vehicle operated by, Wyatt J. Engle, 16, of Platteville, was traveling east on Yankee Hollow Rd, when he failed to negotiate a curve.  Engle's vehicle struck a mailbox and entered the east ditch, where it rolled before coming to rest. Engle advised he was wearing his seatbelt, no airbag deployment, and a minor injury.  The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.

At 6:52 AM, Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a speeding violation in the N700 block of STH 69, in the Town of Clarno.  Investigation resulted in the operator, Tanisha N. Ishmon, 45 of

Freeport, being arrested for Operating while under the influence of a restricted/controlled substance.  Ishmon was also cited for speeding and was released to a responsible party pending court.

MVC- Property Damage:

At 12:19 PM, Deputies responded to the N4400 block of State Highway 69, in the Town of Monroe for a motor vehicle crash with no injuries. Timothy J. Heaslip, 62 of Monticello, was traveling northbound when an object fell from his vehicle, and entered the southbound lane of traffic.  The object collided with a tractor trailer operated by Justin R. Weiers, 24 of New Prague MN. No operators were injured, and both were wearing seatbelts. There was no airbag deployment on either vehicle. The tractor trailer sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.

Child Abuse:

At 5:12 PM, GRSO deputies responded to a disorderly conduct complaint at a residence in the W7900 block STH 11, in the Town of Cadiz.  Amanda M. Malmquist, 43 of Browntown, was arrested for Physical Abuse of a Child & Strangulation. Amanda remains in custody at the Green County Jail pending her initial appearance.

OWI - Alcohol:

At 8:46 PM, Rhonda K Stagliano, 66, Monroe, was stopped for operating without required head and tail lamps in the 1800 block of 6th St, City of Monroe.  After an investigation, Stagliano was arrested for OWI 1st - alcohol.  She was cited for operating without required lighting, OWI 1st, and PAC 1st.  She was released to a responsible party.

Warrant Arrest:

At 8:52 PM, Anthony Nickel, 43, of Monroe, surrendered himself to Deputies for a warrant, at the Green County Jail in Monroe. Nickel was jailed.

Traffic Offense:

At 7:06 PM, Deputies stopped a vehicle due to the registered owner not holding a valid driver’s license, in the 700 block of Vine St in the Village of Albany.  Bane Tlehuactle Calihua, 28, of Evansville, was cited for Operating without Valid License and Operating without Insurance. Bane was released pending a non-mandatory court appearance.

Motor Vehicle Crash – Property Damage

At 8:42 PM, Deputies responded to the N2000 block of Steiner Rd., in the Town of Cadiz, for a single vehicle crash with no injuries.   The investigation found that Douglas J. Burger, 57, of Waupun, was traveling northbound when he swerved to avoid an oncoming vehicle.  Burger then entered the east ditch, where he struck a mailbox.  Burger advised he was wearing his seatbelt and was uninjured.   Burger’s vehicle sustained functional damage, with no airbag deployment, and was driven from the scene.

MVC - Property Damage

At 12:23 PM, Deputies responded to the intersection of STH 69 and STH 81, Argyle interchange, Town of Monroe for a two vehicle accident. Investigations found that a vehicle operated by Quinn T Schultz, 23, of Monroe, was southbound on State Highway 81 when another vehicle operated by Connor J Novak, 24, of Browntown, was turning southbound onto STH 69 from the STH 11 off ramp and failed to see him.  Novak collided with Schultz's vehicle. Schultz and Novak both denied injury, both reported wearing their seatbelts, and there was no airbag deployment in either vehicle. Schultz's vehicle sustained functional damage and was driven from the scene.  Novak's vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.

Novak was cited for inattentive driving and released with a court date.

At 9:21 PM, Deputies, along with Brodhead FD and Brodhead EMS, responded to the N4200 block of CTH E, in the Town of Decatur, for a single vehicle crash with no injuries.  The investigation found that the driver, Bryce R. Hughes, 18, of Brooklyn, was traveling northbound when he swerved to avoid a deer in the road.  Hughes then lost control of his vehicle, slid across the road and into the west ditch where his vehicle struck an electrical box and then came to a rest. Hughes advised he was uninjured and wearing his seatbelt.  His vehicle sustained disabling damage, with airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene.  Hughes was later cited for Driving Too Fast for Conditions and released pending court.  Brodhead PD assisted at the scene.

The following incidents occurred on Saturday, November 16^th, 2024:

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT- PERSONAL INJURY:

At approximately 11:03 PM, Deputies along with Green County EMS, the Monroe Fire Department, and Monroe Police Officers responded to the N600 block of State Highway 69, Town of Clarno, for a report of a two vehicle accident.

Investigations found that a vehicle operated by Juan A Barrios, 17, of Monroe was southbound on State highway 69 when he struck another southbound vehicle operated by Jada A Copeland, 20, of Freeport. Both Barrios and Copeland sustained injuries and were transported by EMS. Both Barrios aand Copeland reported wearing seatbelts and there was airbag deployment in Barrios’ vehicle. 

Both vehicle sustained disabling damages and were towed from the scene. 

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT- PROPERTY DAMAGE:

On 11/17/2024 at approximately 1:19 AM, Deputies responded to the N9300 block of State Highway 92, Town of Exeter, for a report of a single vehicle accident. 

Investigations found that a vehicle operated by Larry K Alcantara, 17, of Belleville was southbound on State Highway 91 when he experienced mechanical trouble. Alcantara’s vehicle entered the East ditch where his vehicle overturned. Alcantara denied injury, reported wearing his seatbelt, and airbags deployed within the vehicle. 

Alcantara’s vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.

At 3:48 PM, deputies responded to a disturbance in the W4300 block of Carter Rd, Town of Jefferson. The investigation resulted in Cristian W Estrada, 20, and Brianna M Bombard,23, both of Juda, being cited for disorderly conduct. Joshua W Hurley, 38, Juda, was cited for disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property.  All parties were released with a court date.

Drug/Narcotic Violation

At 6:00 PM, Green County deputies, along with Monroe Police and SLANT, responded to a residence in the 1800 block of 14th Ave in the City of Monroe, to execute a search warrant.  Dawn M Veer, 51, Monroe was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine Paraphernalia, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  She was jailed pending a court appearance. 

Jeremy A Ball, 46, Warren, IL, was also arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Methamphetamine Paraphernalia.  He was also jailed pending a court appearance.

At 7:12 AM, Lucas Noble, 27, South Wayne, was taken into custody on a Monroe PD warrant in the 2100 block of 8th St. in the City of Monroe.  Noble was jailed.

MVC - Property Damage

At 2:07 PM, deputies along with NGPD, and NGFD responded to the W6300 block of STH 39, in the Town of New Glarus for a semi and trailer rollover. A semi operated by Mikhail Shepelev, 52, North Miami Beach, FL was westbound when he failed to negotiate a curve, and overturned the semi and trailer. Mikhail was not injured and reported  wearing his seatbelt. There was no airbag deployment. The semi sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.  Green County Highway Dept also assisted at the scene. 

MVC - Property Damage

At 3:03 PM deputies responded to a rollover crash in the N1800 block of Jeffery Rd, Town of Clarno. Timothy M Mau, 50, Monroe, was northbound when a deer entered the roadway. Mau advised he took evasive action resulting in him losing control of the vehicle, entered the east ditch, and rolled onto its side. Mau reported wearing his seatbelt, and was uninjured.  There was no airbag deployment.  Mau's vehicle sustained disabling damage, and was towed from the scene.

Mau was cited for Operating While Suspended, Operate a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance, and Non-Registration of Auto, etc. Mau was released pending a court date.

Rouzan, 36, of Monroe, was driving southbound when he collided with a legally parked car.  Rouzan advised that he was wearing his seatbelt and was uninjured.  Rouzan’s vehicle sustained disabling damage to the front end, with airbag deployment, and was removed from the scene.  The parked vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.  Rouzan was cited for Operating After Suspension, No Insurance, and Failure to Maintain Control of his vehicle.  Rouzan was released pending court.

At 5:08 PM, Deputies along with BHFD and BH EMS, responded to the N500 block of CTH G, Town of Spring Grove, for car vs tree accident.  Investigations found that the driver, Cesar Salgado, 22, of Brodhead, was southbound on CTH G, when he swerved to avoid a deer in the roadway. Salgado reported no injuries, reported wearing his seatbelt, and there was a combination of airbags.  The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.

At 7:56 AM, Deputies responded to the N9400 block of STH 92, in the Town of Exeter, for a single vehicle crash with no injury.  The investigation found that Evan K. Thomas, 17, of Belleville, was traveling northbound negotiating a curve when he lost control of the vehicle due to wet road conditions.  Thomas’ vehicle then traveled into the east ditch, where he was unable to stop and then collided with a utility pole.  Thomas advised he was wearing his seatbelt and was uninjured.  Thomas’ vehicle sustained disabling front end damage, with airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene.  

Motor Vehicle Crash – Personal Injury

At 6:10 PM, Deputies, along with Monroe Rural FD and Green County EMS, responded to the N3400 block of CTH N, in the Town of Monroe, for a two-vehicle crash with injury.  The investigation found that Lonnie J. Schmid, 69, of Monticello, was traveling southbound when he slowed down to avoid a deer in the roadway.  A vehicle behind Schmid, operated by Joshua H. Diederich, 28, of New Glarus, then collided with the back of Schmid’s vehicle.  Schmid and Diederich advised they were both wearing their seatbelts and Diederich was uninjured.  Schmid was later transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injury.  Schmid’s vehicle sustained disabling damage with no airbag deployment.  Diederich’s vehicle sustained disabling damage with airbag deployment.  Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

At 1:46 AM, GRSO Deputies, Argyle EMS, Green County EMS, and Argyle FD, responded to a rollover crash in the W8000 block of CTH C, Town of Adams.  Julie M Swedlund, 42, Monticello, was eastbound when she swerved to miss a deer in the roadway.  The vehicle struck a driveway, went airborne, and came to rest on its passenger side.  Swedlund reported wearing her seatbelt and sustained injuries.  She was transported to an area hospital.  There was airbag deployment.  The vehicle sustained disabling damage, and was towed from the scene.

Swedlund was arrested for OWI 1st - Alcohol, and cited for Failure to Maintain Control.  She was jailed pending release to a responsible party, and a mandatory court appearance.

MVC- PI & Drug/Narcotic Violation

At 2:46 AM, Deputies, Green County EMS, and Monticello FD responded to a rollover crash in the N5500 block of STH 69, Town of Washington.  Alyjah T. Baker, 20, Freeport, IL, reported he was northbound when he swerved to miss a deer in the roadway.  Baker lost control of his vehicle and entered the east ditch, where his vehicle rolled over.  Baker sustained injuries, but was not transported.  The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage.  Baker reported wearing his seatbelt, and there was airbag deployment.  Baker was cited for possession of THC and drug paraphernalia, and was released pending a court appearance.

At 2:49 AM, Deputies responded to the 200 block of N. Water St., in the Village of Albany, for a reported ongoing physical altercation.  The investigation resulted in Lucas J. Nelson, 32, of Oak Lawn, IL, being placed under arrest for Battery and Disorderly Conduct.  Nelson was later incarcerated at the Green County Jail pending the posting of his bond or court.  Brodhead PD assisted with this incident. 

Warrant Arrest

At 8:55 AM, Deputies responded to the W6000 block of Loveland Rd., in the Town of Washington, where Abell Herrera Lopez, 54, of Monticello, was placed under arrest for an active arrest warrant.  Herrera Lopez was later incarcerated at the Green County Jail pending court. 

Domestic Abuse

At 6:00 PM, Deputies responded to the W5200 block of Hefty Rd., in the Town of Washington, for further investigation regarding a reported domestic disturbance.  The investigation resulted in Bryce M. Klitzke, 29, of Monticello, being placed under arrest for Strangulation & Suffocation, Battery, and Disorderly Conduct (all domestic abuse related).   Klitzke was later incarcerated at the Green County Jail pending court.

Kocher, 25, of Aubrey, TX, was traveling southbound when he entered the west shoulder, collided with an embankment to a driveway, overturned, struck a utility pole, and then came to a rest on a fence.  Kocher advised he was wearing his seatbelt and was uninjured.  Kocher’s vehicle sustained disabling damage, with airbag deployment and was towed from the scene.  The investigation resulted in Kocher being placed under arrest for Operating While under the Influence.  Kocher was additionally cited for Driving too Fast for Conditions.  Kocher was later incarcerated at the Green County Jail pending court.

At 6:36 AM, Deputies, along with Brooklyn FD and Brooklyn EMS, responded to the intersection of STH 104 & Amidon Rd., in the Town of Brooklyn, for a two-vehicle crash with injury.  The investigation found that Riaan P. Fourie, 30, of Evansville, was traveling northbound and attempting to turn westbound onto Amidon Rd. when Anne M. Marchello, 81, of Westfield, was traveling southbound and collided with Fourie.  Marchello advised she was wearing her seatbelt and sustained non-life threatening injury.  Her vehicle sustained disabling damage, with airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene.  Fourie advised he was wearing his seatbelt and was not injured.  His vehicle sustained disabling damage, with airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene.  Fourie was cited for Failure to Yield Right of Way Causing Injury and released pending court.  

Motor Vehicle Crash – Property Damage

At 1:45 PM, Deputies responded to the intersection of STH 104 & St. John Rd., in the Town of Decatur, for a two-vehicle crash without injury.  The investigation found that Ricky P. Phillips, 32, of South Wayne, was traveling northbound and attempted to turn westbound onto St. John Rd.   While turning, Phillips was struck by Cade R. Walker, 21, of Brodhead, who was traveling southbound on STH 104.  Phillips and Walker advised they were both wearing their seatbelts and were uninjured.   Phillips’ vehicle sustained functional damage, with no airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene.   Walker’s vehicle sustained functional damage, with no airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene.  Phillips was cited for Failure to Yield while Making a Left Turn and released pending court.

Motor Vehicle Crash - 

At approximately 8:50 PM, Deputies responded to the N8200 blk of CTH J, Town of York, for a car vs. calf crash. Investigation determined the operator, Ronald Anderson, 82 of Monroe, was traveling south on CTH J when he struck a calf in the roadway. Ronald reported wearing his seatbelt and not being injured. The vehicle sustained disabling damage with no airbag deployment and was towed from the scene.

Motor Vehicle Crash – Property Damage

At 2:10 PM, Deputies responded to the W1400 block of STH 11, in the Town of Spring Grove, for a report of a semi-truck and trailer that had its brakes catch on fire.  The investigation found that Timur Nasimov, 28, of Philadelphia was traveling eastbound when he observed flames coming from the rear driver side of the trailer. Nasimov then pulled over and extinguished the fire.  Nasimov was uninjured and wearing his seatbelt at the time of incident.  The truck was disabled as a result and remained on scene awaiting repair.

Domestic Abuse 

At 1:20 AM, Deputies responded to the W900 block of Pedee Rd., in the Town of Spring Grove, for a reported domestic disturbance.  The investigation resulted in Brent M. Alderman, 41, being placed under arrest for Disorderly Conduct, Substantial Battery, and Battery to Elderly (Domestic Abuse related).  Alderman was later incarcerated at the Green County Jail pending court. 

Motor Vehicle Crash – Personal Injury

At 6:49 AM, Deputies, along with Monticello FD and Green County EMS, responded to the intersection of STH 69 & Wittenwyler Rd., in the Town of Mt. Pleasant, for a reported two vehicle crash with unknown injuries.  The investigation found that Kelvin W. Johnson, 64, of Monticello, was traveling southbound on STH 69 and had began slowing down to turn eastbound on Wittenwyler.  David J. West, 26, of Belleville, who was also traveling southbound on STH 69 behind Johnson, failed to slow down and collided with the rear end of Johnson’s vehicle.  Johnson advised he was wearing his seatbelt and was later transported to the Hospital for further medical evaluation.  Johnson’s vehicle sustained functional damage, with no airbag deployment, and was driven from the scene.  West advised he was uninjured and wearing his seatbelt.  West’s vehicle sustained functional damage, with no airbag deployment, and was driven from the scene.  West was later cited for Failure to Keep Vehicle Under Control and released pending court.  

Motor Vehicle Crash – Property Damage

At 8:05 AM, Deputies responded to the intersection of STH 69 & CTH H, in the Town of New Glarus, for a reported two vehicle crash with no injuries.  The investigation found Aaron M. Kurschner, 27, of Verona, was traveling southbound on STH 69 when Tanya L. Hoffman Teasdale, 49, of Monticello, was turning northbound on STH 69 from CTH H.  Hoffman Teasdale failed to yield to Kurschner causing them to collide.  Both Kurschner and Hoffman Teasdale advised they were uninjured and wearing their seatbelts.  Both vehicles sustained functional damage, with no airbag deployment, and were driven from the scene.  

Probation/Parole Violation

At 4:36 PM, Deputies responded to the 2800 block of 6^th St. (Probation & Parole), in the City of Monroe, where Alton L. Bellows, 42, of Monroe, was placed under arrest for a Probation Violation.  Bellows was later incarcerated at Green County Jail.

MVC - Property Damage

At 5:32 AM, Deputies responded to the N7100 block of STH 69, Town of Washington,

for a report of a two vehicle accident.  Investigations found that a vehicle operated by Brian L Sherman, 49, of Monticello, was northbound on STH 69, preparing to turn right into a driveway when another northbound vehicle, operated by Codie DW Mau, 28, of Monroe failed to brake and struck Sherman's vehicle. 

Both Mau and Sherman denied injury, both reported wearing their seatbelts, and there was no airbag deployment in either vehicle. Sherman's vehicle was driven from the scene. Mau's vehicle was towed from the scene. 

Mau was cited for Following Too Close and warned for non-registration of an auto, etc. Mau was released with a court date.

Traffic Offense

At 12:03 PM a deputy was operating westbound in the W3500 block of STH 11, Town of Sylvester, and approaching the four lane split, when a gray colored truck passed the squad and several other vehicles in a no passing zone. The vehicle  had to cut into the westbound lanes to prevent a head on collision with an eastbound vehicle. The driver, Kenneth Koester, 65,  Freeport, IL. was cited for passing in no passing zone and unsafe cutting in while passing.  He was released with a court date. 

OWI 

At 4:19 PM, Deputies responded to the area of STH 11 and Balls Mill Road, in the Town of Sylvester, for a traffic complaint.  Deputies located the vehicle in question and was stopped for a speeding violation. Investigation resulted in the operator, Roger D. Kieler, 43, Monroe, being arrested for Operating While Under the Influence - Alcohol - 3rd offense. Kieler was further cited for speeding and Possessing Open Intoxicants in a Motor Vehicle.

A passenger, Sarah B. Keffer, of Monroe, was cited for Possessing  Open Intoxicants in a Motor Vehicle as a Passenger.  Keffer was released pending a court appearance.  Kieler was jailed at the Green County Jail pending the posting of bond or an initial court appearance. 

MVC - Property Damage

At 9:27PM Deputies responded to the N3700 block of STH 69 for a report of a two vehicle crash with no injuries.  Deputies determined that Kelli Rufer,(56, Monroe, was northbound, stopped in traffic to turn left into a driveway.  Rufer reported having her turn signal on. A second northbound vehicle, operated by Jaxon Roquez Teronero, 22,  Monroe did not stop in time and attempted to go around Rufer’s  vehicle while she was turning left,  which caused a collision.  

Both drivers reported wearing their seatbelts and were uninjured.  There was no airbag deployment.  Rufer’s vehicle sustained disabling driver’s side damage and was towed from the scene.  Roquez Teronero’s vehicle sustained disabling front passenger side damage and was also towed from the scene.  

Roquez Teronero was cited for no valid driver’s license, and no motor vehicle  insurance. He was released with a court date.

Motor Vehicle Crash – Property Damage

At 7:34 AM, Deputies, along with Belleville Police Department and Fire Department, responded to the W3100 block of STH 92, in the Town of Exeter, for a two-vehicle crash with no injuries.  The investigation found that Jeremy L. Yaun, 41, of Brooklyn, was stopped in traffic facing westbound when another westbound vehicle, driven by Taya L. Gilbertson, 16, of Belleville, failed to stop and collided with the back of a trailer being transported by Yaun.  Yaun advised he was wearing his seatbelt and was not injured.  Yaun’s vehicle did not sustain any damage and the trailer sustained functional damage but was driven from the scene.  Gilberston advised she was wearing her seatbelt and was uninjured.   Her vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.  

Motor Vehicle Crash – Personal Injury

At 12:59 PM, Deputies, along with Albany EMS, Albany First Response, Evansville EMS, Brooklyn EMS, and Albany Police Department, responded to the intersection of Brooklyn Albany Rd. & CTH E, in the Town of Albany, for a two-vehicle crash with injury.   The investigation found that Bryna D. Caves, 39, of Albany, began traveling east from the stop sign at the intersection on Brooklyn Albany Rd., failing to yield the right of way to a northbound vehicle on CTH E driven by Nicole M. Baebler.  Baebler then struck Caves’ vehicle on the passenger side.  Baebler advised she was wearing her seatbelt and was later transported to the hospital for further medical examination.  Baebler’s vehicle sustained disabling damage, with airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene.  Caves advised she was wearing her seatbelt and was not injured.  Caves’ vehicle sustained disabling damage, with airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene.  Caves was later cited for Failure to Yield Right of Way from a Stop Sign Causing Injury and cited three times for Violation of Child Safety Restraint.   Caves was released pending court.   

Probation/Parole Violation

At 2:09 PM, Deputies responded to the 2800 block of 6^th St. (Probation & Parole), in the City of Monroe, where Paul M. Elsner, 64, of New Glarus, was taken into custody for a Probation Hold.  Elsner was later incarcerated at the Green County Jail.

At 2:50 PM Deputies responded to the intersection of Legler Valley Rd & Ashley Ln, in the Town of New Glarus, for an abandoned vehicle. Further investigation resulted in the vehicle owner, Edwin D. Gashette, 26 of New Glarus, being arrested for a Felony Warrant through the Dane County Sheriff's Office. Gashette was arrested and  turned over to the Dane County Sheriff's Office.

Traffic & Drug/Narcotic Violation

At 8:33 PM Deputies stopped a vehicle for speeding in the 1000 block of STH 69, in the City of Monroe.  Wyatt W Brown, 19, Monroe, was cited for speeding, possession of less than 25g of marijuana, possession of psilocybin, underage possession of nicotine, non-registration of vehicle, no proof of insurance, and operating without carrying a license.  He was released pending a court appearance.

Motor Vehicle Crash – Personal Injury

At 10:52 PM, Deputies, along with Monroe Police Department, Monroe Fire Department, and Green County EMS, responded to the intersection of Melvin Rd. & Jeffery Rd., in the Town of Clarno, for a two-vehicle crash with injuries.  The investigation found that Cynthia K. Dicks, 30, of Monroe, was traveling southbound on Jeffrey Rd. when Scott J. Paffel, 44, of Monroe, was travelling westbound on Melvin Rd. and failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign.  Dicks and Paffel then collided in the intersection.   All parties advised they were wearing their seatbelts and Paffel’s passenger, Seth J. Paffel, 18, of Monroe, was transported to the hospital for further medical examination.  Dicks’ vehicle sustained disabling damage, with airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene.  Paffel’s vehicle sustained disabling damage, with no airbag deployment and was towed from the scene.  

Motor Vehicle Crash – Personal Injury

At 1:03 PM, Deputies, along with Brodhead Police Department, Brodhead Fire Department, Green County EMS, and Brodhead EMS, responded to the N2200 block of CTH T, in the Town of Spring Grove, for a two-vehicle crash with injuries.  The investigation found Joann S. Dill, 88, of Rockford, IL was traveling southbound on CTH T when a motorcycle operated by Cameron L. Gempeler, 23, of Beloit, collided with the rear end of Dill’s vehicle.  Joann advised that she was wearing her seatbelt and she was uninjured.   Joann’s vehicle sustained functional damage, with no airbag deployment, and was driven from the scene.  Gempeler was wearing a helmet and was later transported to the hospital for further medical examination.  Gempeler’s motorcycle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.  

Motor Vehicle Crash – Property Damage

At 6:19 PM, Deputies responded to the 100 block of N. Mill St., in the Town of Cadiz, for a reported hit and run vehicle crash.  Following an investigation, it was found that Robert J. Ruegsegger, 69, of Darlington, was doing a burnout when he lost control of his vehicle and collided with an unoccupied parked vehicle.  Ruegsegger advised he was wearing his seatbelt and he was uninjured.  Ruegsegger’s vehicle sustained disabling damage, with no airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene.  Ruegsegger was cited for Hit and Run, Failure of Operator to Notify Police of an Accident, Too Fast for Condition, Non-Registration of Auto, and Unnecessary Acceleration. Ruegsegger was released pending court.  

Domestic Abuse Arrest

At 6:49 PM, Deputies responded to the W8000 block of Smock Valley Rd., in the Town of Jordan, for a reported domestic disturbance.   The investigation resulted in Brett E. Newman, 42, of Monroe, being placed under arrest for Battery and Disorderly Conduct (both domestic abuse related).  Newman was later incarcerated at the Green County Jail pending court.

Motor Vehicle Crash – Property Damage

At 10:31 PM, Deputies responded to the intersection of CTH C & Sandy Hook Rd., in the Town of Brooklyn, for a single vehicle crash with no injuries.  The driver, Elijah K. Duerst, 18, of Monticello, advised he was traveling westbound on CTH C when he failed to negotiate a left curve.  Duerst then traveled through the intersection, where he struck a tree and then came to a rest on the yard of a residence to the west of the intersection.  Duerst advised he was wearing his seatbelt and was uninjured.  The vehicle sustained disabling damage to the front end, with no airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene.  Duerst was later cited for Failure to Keep Vehicle Under Control and released pending court.

Drug/Narcotic Offense

At 7:40 AM, Deputies were notified of a traffic complaint driving erratically westbound from the

W2300 block of STH 92.  Deputies located the vehicle and stopped it in the N9300 block of STH 92, Town

of Exeter for operating left of center.  Investigations resulted in the driver, Jeffrey D Meissen, 32, of Durand (IL) being cited for possession of marijuana (less than 25 grams). Meissen was warned for going left of center and possession of illegal drug paraphernalia. Meissen was released with a court date.

Warrant Arrest

At 8:09 AM, Deputies responded to a residence in the W800 block of Taylor Trl, Town of Decatur, for a suspicious activity complaint.  Adrian Heydn, 32, reported seeing people living under his residence, but some of them fled after being discovered by him.  There were no signs of people staying under the residence. Heydn was arrested on body only warrants through Sauk County and Rock County.  WI DOC also placed a hold on Heydn for violating his rules of probation.  He was jailed, and then turned over to Sauk County Deputies.

Drug/Narcotic Violation

1:42 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a speeding violation in the N3300 block of STH 69, Town of Monroe.  Investigation resulted in the operator, Matthew E. Shutvet, 46, Madison, being cited for Possession of THC and speeding 89/55. Shutvet was released pending court.

MVC-PI

At 12:34 PM, Deputies along with Green EMS and Monroe Rural FD responded to the N2100

block of STH 69, Town of Clarno, for a report of an accident with injuries.  A northbound vehicle  operated by Dustin L Eells, 65, of Monroe,  struck a vehicle operated by Ryan L Cessna, 39, Monroe, while Eells was performing a passing maneuver on the right.  Eells’ vehicle crossed in front of Cessna's vehicle, and went down an embankment on the west side of the road. 

Cessna and his juvenile passenger both denied injury and  reported wearing their seatbelts.  There was no airbag deployment. Eells sustained an injury, and seatbelt usage is unknown.  There was no airbag deployment. Eells was transported by EMS for medical treatment suspected of contributing to the incident. 

Cessna's vehicle sustained functional damage and was driven from the scene. Eells’ vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.

Traffic Offense

At 5:43 p.m. Jose Migel Baldivia Robles, 43, Monroe, was stopped for speeding and passing into oncoming traffic in the N4400 block of STH 69, Town of Monroe.  He was cited for speeding, No Valid DL, False Display of Registration, and Failure of Transferee to Obtain Title.  He was warned for no proof of insurance and passing into oncoming traffic.  He was released with a court date.

Disorderly Conduct

At 9:37 p.m. Deputies responded to several 911 calls about a disorderly person in the 100 block of N Jackson St, in the Village of Albany.  The subject had fled the scene prior to Deputies arrival.  The investigation is still ongoing.

Motor Vehicle Crash- Personal Injury:

At 9:18 PM, Deputies along with Green County EMS and Monroe FD responded to the N5200 block of County Highway J, Town of Washington, for a single vehicle accident.

Investigations found that a vehicle operated by Ava Waefler, 17, of Monroe, was southbound on County Highway J, when she made an evasive maneuver to avoid striking an animal in the roadway. Waefler’s vehicle entered the East ditch and struck a mailbox. Waefler was transported by EMS for further medical care. Waefler reported wearing her seatbelt and no airbag deployment. 

Waefler’s vehicle was towed from the scene due to disabling damage.

OWI:

At approximately 6:21 AM, Deputies stopped to check the welfare of a driver in the W1700 block of State Highway 11, Town of Spring Grove.

Investigations resulted in Brandon A Diaz, 21, of Brodhead being arrested for operating while under the influence-1^st. Diaz was further cited for operating after suspension. Diaz was transported to the Green County Jail where he was later released to a responsible party.

UPDATED NEWS RELEASE  / VEHICLE OPERATORS IDENTIFIED:

On Sunday, September 29, 2024 at approximately 2:02 PM, the Green County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a two vehicle crash at the intersection of State Highway 81 and County Highway T, Town of Spring Grove. Green County Sheriff's Deputies along with Brodhead Police Department, Brodhead Fire Department, Brodhead EMS, and Rock County Sheriff's Office Deputies were dispatched to the scene.

The initial investigation revealed that a black 2012 Honda Civic passenger car operated by lone occupant, ROBERT BROWN, 23, of Lena, IL was traveling Southbound on CTH T when the vehicle failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of STH 81 and CTH T. BROWN's vehicle entered onto STH 81 and into oncoming traffic where BROWN's vehicle was struck by a Westbound blue 2024 Honda CRV SUV operated by a lone occupant, NICOLE FEHRINGER, 47, of Monroe, WI. Both vehicles sustained severe disabling damage along with airbag deployment and were towed from the scene. At the time of the collision, FEHRINGER was properly restrained and sustained non life-threatening injuries. BROWN was also properly restrained and sustained fatal injuries. ROBERT J BROWN, 23, of Lena, IL, was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Green County Coroner’s Office. 

The Green County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Rock County Sheriff's Office (crash reconstruction unit) and the Green County Highway Department (traffic control). The roadway remained closed for approximately 4 hours. No additional information will be released at this time.  

The crash, which is Green County's third traffic fatality of 2024, remains under investigation.

At 1:13 AM, Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the W800 block of STH 11, in the Town of STH 11, in the Town of Spring Grove.  The investigation resulted in the driver, Jesus Ramirez Sanchez, 22, of Beloit, being placed under arrest for Operating While under the Influence, two counts of Bail Jumping, and an active Arrest Warrant.  Ramirez Sanchez was additionally cited for Failure to Install an Ignition Interlock Device and Unsafe Lane Deviation.  Ramirez Sanchez was incarcerated at the Green County Jail pending court. 

Operating While under the Influence

At 4:03 PM, Deputies, along with Belleville PD, Belleville EMS, and Albany FD responded to the N6800 block of CTH X, in the Town of Albany, for a one vehicle crash with unknown injuries.  The investigation found that the driver, Harvey L. McNaught, 54, of Albany, was traveling southbound, when he failed to negotiate a curve and lost control of the vehicle.  McNaught then traveled into the south field, overturned, and came to a rest.  McNaught was transported to the hospital for further medical evaluation.  McNaught's vehicle sustained disabling damage, with airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene.  The investigation resulted in McNaught being placed under arrest for Operating While under the Influence and cited for Failure to Maintain Control of his vehicle and Possession of Open Intoxicants in his vehicle.  McNaught was later released pending court.  

Drug/Narcotic Violation

At 10:35 PM, Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding in the N7100 block of STH 69, in the Town of Washington.  The investigation resulted in the passenger of the vehicle, Verralynn E. Gander, 21, being cited for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Gander was later released pending court.

Motor Vehicle Crash – Property Damage

At 12:21 PM, Deputies responded to the W2400 block of STH 59, in the Town of Decatur, for a two-vehicle crash with no reported injuries.  The investigation found that Daryl L. Lincicum, 57, of Evansville, was traveling eastbound when a deer entered the road.  Lincicum then began braking to prevent colliding with the deer and a second vehicle, driven by Owen K. Roth, 18, of Albany, struck the back of Lincicum’s vehicle.   Lincicum and Roth advised that they were wearing their seatbelts and were uninjured. Lincicum’s vehicle sustained minor damage, with no airbag deployment, and was driven from the scene.  Roth’s vehicle sustained disabling damage, with no airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene.  

Warrant Arrest

At 10:15 PM, Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding in the N7500 block of STH 69, in the Town of New Glarus.  The investigation resulted in the driver, Omar Castellanos Pedroza, 33, of Madison, being placed under arrest for an active arrest warrant through Fond Du Lac County Sheriff’s Office.  Castellanos Pedroza was also cited for speeding and operating without a valid driver’s license.   Castellanos Pedroza was later incarcerated at the Green County Jail and released after the posting of his bond. 

Motor Vehicle Crash – Personal Injury

At 10:57 PM, Deputies, along with Monroe PD, Monroe Rural FD, and Green County EMS responded to the intersection of STH 81 & CTH N, in the Town of Monroe, for a two vehicle crash with unknown injuries.   The investigation found that Gavin R. Harris, 18, of Monticello, was traveling northbound on CTH N, when he checked his phone and then failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection with STH 81.  Harris then traveled into the intersection, where he collided with Cindi M. Wittlinger, 51, of Arizona.  Harris and Wittlinger both advised they were wearing their seatbelts.  Harris advised he was uninjured. Wittlinger was later transported to the Hospital for further medical evaluation.  Both vehicles sustained disabling damage, with airbag deployment, and were towed from the scene.  Harris was later cited for Inattentive Driving and Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign.

Green County Sheriff’s Office

On Sunday, September 29th at 2:02 PM the Green County Sheriff’s Office - Communication Center received a 911 call reporting a motor vehicle crash on State Hwy 81 and County Hwy T, just south of the City of Brodhead.  Brodhead Fire Department and Brodhead EMS responded to the scene.  Sheriff’s deputies were assisted on scene by Brodhead Police and the Rock County Sheriff’s Office.  

Preliminary investigation determined a vehicle was southbound on County Hwy T, traveled through the intersection at State Hwy 81 and County Hwy T and was struck by an SUV traveling westbound on State Hwy 81.  The vehicle was driven by a 23 year old man from Lena, IL. The SUV was driven by a 47 year old female from Monroe, WI.  The vehicle failed to stop at the stop sign and collided with the SUV.   

Brodhead Fire Department extricated the driver of the vehicle.  The driver was pronounced deceased on scene.  The driver’s name is being withheld at this time. The vehicle sustained severe disabling damage and was towed from the scene.  The airbags did deploy in the vehicle, the driver was wearing his seatbelt.   

The operator of the SUV was injured and transported to a local hospital for treatment. She was wearing her seatbelt and the airbags deployed. The SUV sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.  This is Green County’s third traffic fatality of 2024.

At 6:32 AM, Deputies, along with Browntown Fire Department and Green County EMS, responded to a car vs. deer crash with injury in the W7500 block of STH 11, in the Town of Cadiz.  The investigation found that Amy L. Lopez, 27, of South Wayne, was traveling eastbound when a deer entered the road and collided with Lopez’s vehicle.  Lopez reported that she was wearing her seatbelt.   Lopez’s vehicle sustained disabling damage, with no airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene.  Lopez was later transported to hospital for further medical evaluation.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

At 7:30 AM,  Deputies responded to the N2300 block of Spring St, Town of Jefferson for a disorderly conduct complaint.  Investigation resulted in the arrest of  James E Hurley, 58, Juda,  was arrested for disorderly conduct. He was transported to the Green County Jail,  posted  bond and was released. 

WARRANT ARREST

At 6:33 PM, deputies responded to the 2500 block of  10th St, City of Monroe and arrested  Noah M. Amacher, 22 of Brodhead on an active warrant through probation and parole. Noah was jailed at the Green County Jail.

The driver of the SUV was identified as Gary D. Rice, 73 of Rockford, IL.   Rice was pronounced deceased on scene by the Green County Coroner’s Office.  

The investigation is ongoing at this time by the Sheriff’s Office - Detective Bureau.
