2024 Sheriff's Department Press Releases Posted on December 24, 2024

The following events occurred on December 23, 2024:

All persons arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.


MVC - Injury:

At 5:11 PM, GRSO deputies, along with Lafayette County deputies, Argyle EMS and Fire Department, Blanchardville EMS, and GC EMS responded to a rollover crash with injuries in the W8000 block of CTH C, Town of Adams. German Danilo Amaya Murillo, 46, Darlington, was westbound when the driver's rear tire blew out.  German lost control of the vehicle, and crossed the center line, entering the east ditch, traveling up and then down the embankment, before re-entering the roadway, and rolling over.  The vehicle came to rest on its tires facing west.  The vehicle sustained overall disabling damage and was towed from the scene.  There was no airbag deployment.


German sustained non-life threatening injuries.  Front seat passenger, Santos Genaro Murillo-Salgado, 47, Monticello, sustained non-life threatening injuries.  Rear driver's side passenger, Oscar Hermando Velazquez, 54, Monticello, sustained non-life threatening injuries  Rear passenger side passenger Wilfredo Lanza Diaz, 38, Monticello, sustained possible life-threatening injuries.  All occupants were reported to be wearing seatbelts, and all were transported to SSM via ambulances.   


German was cited for Operating W/O a Valid DL, Causing Injury.  He was released pending court.


MVC - Property Damage:

At 5:22 PM, while operating with emergency lights and sirens activated on the way to an injury crash, a GRSO deputy struck a deer.  Sergeant Dani Jackson was northbound in the N4400 block of CTH J, Town of Monroe, when a deer entered the roadway and collided with the squad car.  Sgt. Jackson was wearing a seatbelt and was uninjured.  There was no airbag deployment.  The squad sustained functional damage to the pushbar and grill, and was driven from the scene.  Lafayette County Sheriff investigated the crash.
