2024 Sheriff's Department Press Releases Posted on September 30, 2024

The following events occurred on September 29, 2024:

All person’s arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

 

 

Criminal Arrest

At 1:13 AM, Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the W800 block of STH 11, in the Town of STH 11, in the Town of Spring Grove.  The investigation resulted in the driver, Jesus Ramirez Sanchez, 22, of Beloit, being placed under arrest for Operating While under the Influence, two counts of Bail Jumping, and an active Arrest Warrant.  Ramirez Sanchez was additionally cited for Failure to Install an Ignition Interlock Device and Unsafe Lane Deviation.  Ramirez Sanchez was incarcerated at the Green County Jail pending court. 

 

Operating While under the Influence

At 4:03 PM, Deputies, along with Belleville PD, Belleville EMS, and Albany FD responded to the N6800 block of CTH X, in the Town of Albany, for a one vehicle crash with unknown injuries.  The investigation found that the driver, Harvey L. McNaught, 54, of Albany, was traveling southbound, when he failed to negotiate a curve and lost control of the vehicle.  McNaught then traveled into the south field, overturned, and came to a rest.  McNaught was transported to the hospital for further medical evaluation.  McNaught's vehicle sustained disabling damage, with airbag deployment, and was towed from the scene.  The investigation resulted in McNaught being placed under arrest for Operating While under the Influence and cited for Failure to Maintain Control of his vehicle and Possession of Open Intoxicants in his vehicle.  McNaught was later released pending court.  

 

Drug/Narcotic Violation

At 10:35 PM, Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding in the N7100 block of STH 69, in the Town of Washington.  The investigation resulted in the passenger of the vehicle, Verralynn E. Gander, 21, being cited for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.  Gander was later released pending court.
