2021 Sheriff's Department Press Releases Posted on October 11, 2021

All persons arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The following incidents occurred on Sunday, October 10, 2021:

Domestic Abuse Arrest– 

At approximately 3:26 AM, Deputies responded to the W6300 block of Dividing Ridge Rd., Town of Washington, for a report of a physical disturbance that just occurred. The offender, Nathan J. Hudson, 39 of Monticello, fled the scene prior to law enforcement arrival. The Monticello Fire Department evaluated the victim at the scene. The victim was treated on scene and was not transported. Deputies and Lafayette County Deputies continued to search for Nathan. 

Nathan was ultimately located in South Wayne, where he was taken into custody without incident.

Nathan was placed under arrest for Disorderly Conduct, Battery, False Imprisonment, and Strangulation and Suffocation. All of Nathan’s charges fall under the Wisconsin Domestic Abuse Law. Nathan was transported to the Green County Jail where he will be held pending an initial court appearance.  

Domestic Abuse Arrest – 

At approximately 9:26 AM, Deputies responded to the 300 block of S. Mechanic St., in the Village of Albany, for a report of a domestic disturbance. The offender, Bryan D. Morell, 34 of Albany, fled the scene prior to Deputies arrival. 

Bryan was located operating his vehicle by a Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Warden. The DNR Warden conducted a traffic stop and remained with Bryan until Deputies arrived. 

Bryan was subsequently arrested for Disorderly Conduct – Domestic, and for Criminal Damage to Property. Bryan was transported to the Green County Jail where he will be held pending his initial court appearance. 

Motor Vehicle Crash With Injury – 

At approximately 7:10 PM, Deputies, the Brodhead Police Department, Brodhead First Response, Brodhead EMS and Green County EMS, responded to the intersection of State Highway 11 and County Highway G, Town of Spring Grove, for a two-vehicle crash with injury. 

Investigation revealed that a westbound vehicle, operated by Jeffrey D. Broten, 40 of Juda, was stopped in traffic on Highway 11 waiting to turn left on to County Highway G. At this time, another westbound vehicle, operated by Samantha J. Masseur, 34 of Monroe, did not see Jeffrey in the roadway and struck the rear of his vehicle. The collision caused Jeffrey’s vehicle to overturn and come to a rest on the roadway. 

Jeffrey and his passenger reported wearing their seatbelts and there was airbag deployment. Jeffrey reported a minor injury, but was not transported. Jeffrey’s vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. 

Samantha and her passenger both reported wearing their seatbelts and there was airbag deployment. Samantha’s passenger was transported due to injury. Injuries were not reported by Samantha and her vehicle was towed from the scene due to disabling damage.
