All persons arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The following incident occurred on Saturday, October 16, 2021:

Motor Vehicle Crash – 

At approximately 8:19 PM, Deputies responded to the area of N3000 State Highway 81, Town of Monroe, for a two vehicle crash. Investigation revealed that Ryana J. Southall, 19 of Monroe, was operating her vehicle west on State Highway 81 in the right lane when she attempted to merge into the left lane. Ryana then struck a vehicle that was beside her, also traveling west bound. 

The collision caused disabling damage to Ryana’s vehicle and it was towed from the scene by Jelle’s Towing. There was no airbag deployment, Ryana reported wearing her seatbelt and she was not injured. 

The second vehicle involved, operated by Brooke A. Orton, 27 of Argyle, also sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene by Don’s Towing. Brooke and her passengers were not injured and reported wearing their seatbelts. There was side airbag deployment in Brooke’s vehicle. 

Ryana was issued citations for Inattentive Driving and for Operating a Motor Vehicle without Insurance. She was released with a future court date.
