All persons arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The following incident occurred on Tuesday, October 19, 2021:
Traffic Crash/OWI Arrest –
At approximately 10:48 AM, Deputies responded to a single vehicle crash in the area of N3500 Race Rd., Town of Decatur.
Investigation determined that the operator, Brian R. Vaade, 37 of Brodhead, was traveling south on Race Rd., when he lost control of the vehicle due to the pea gravel. The vehicle exited the roadway and collided with a tree. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene by Don’s Towing. Brian and his lone passenger both reported being uninjured and wearing their seatbelts.
Brian was subsequently arrested for Operating While Under the Influence of Alcohol – 1st Offense and Operating With Prohibited Alcohol Concentration. Brian was also issued a citation for Operating Without a Valid License – 2nd Within 3 years. Brian was released to a responsible party pending a future court appearance.
