All persons arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The following incident occurred on Thursday, November 04, 2021:
OWI Arrest, Possession of THC –
At approximately 1:15 AM, Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speed in the N6000 block of State Highway 104, Town of Albany.
Investigation revealed the operator, Mathew D. Turczyn, 22 of Rockford, IL, to be operating while impaired. Mathew was placed under arrest for Operating While Under the Influence of Alcohol, 1st Offense. Mathew was also cited for speed and released to a responsible party with a future court date.
Further investigation resulted in a passenger, Hannah P. Hathaway, 20 of Machesney Park, being cited for Possession of THC, Less than 25 Grams. Hannah was released with a future court date.
Traffic Crash –
At approximately 6:45 AM, Deputies responded to the N3900 block of County Highway J, Town of Monroe, for a report of a two vehicle crash with no injury.
Investigation revealed that a northbound truck, operated by Thomas A. Hilliard, 60 of Monticello, had to swing out wide to the left to make a right turn into a driveway. While doing this, Thomas’ truck entered the southbound lane, at which point he was struck by an oncoming southbound vehicle.
The southbound vehicle, operated by Leo G. Perez, 29 of Argyle, sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene by Don’s Towing. There was no airbag deployment in either vehicle, both operator’s reported wearing their seatbelts and neither was injured.
Traffic Crash With Injury -
At approximately 10:40 PM, Deputies, Brodhead EMS, the Brodhead Fire Department, and the Brodhead Police Department, responded to the W600 block of State Highway 11, Town of Spring Grove, for a car vs deer crash with injury.
Investigation revealed that the operator, Alison H. Schwartz, 44 of Janesville, was traveling east when a deer entered the roadway striking her vehicle. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Alison reported wearing her seatbelt and there was front airbag deployment in the vehicle. Alison was evaluated by Brodhead EMS for minor injuries sustained in the crash and was not transported.
