All persons arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The following incident occurred on Thursday, November 11, 2021:
OWI Arrest –
At approximately 2:28 AM, Deputies and New Glarus EMS, responded to the 200 block of 12th Avenue in the Village of New Glarus, for a report of a vehicle crash.
Investigation revealed that the operator, Jeffrey L. Kleeman, 46 of New Glarus, was traveling east on 12th St. when Jeffrey stated a dog entered the roadway, causing him to swerve. Jeffrey exited the road to the north and lost control of his truck. The truck continued north through a residential front yard, striking an attached garage and coming to rest on residential property.
The truck sustained disabling damage and there was airbag deployment. Jeffrey sustained a possible minor injury and was evaluated on scene by New Glarus EMS. Jeffrey also reported wearing his seatbelt.
Further investigation resulted in Jeffrey being placed under arrest for Operating While Under the Influence of Alcohol. Jeffrey was also cited for Failure to Maintain Control of his vehicle. Jeffrey was released to a responsible party pending a future court appearance date. The truck was removed from the scene by Jelle’s Towing.
