The following incidents occurred on Saturday, December 4th, 2021:
Motor Vehicle Accident-Property Damage:
At approximately 4:42 AM, Deputies along with the Brodhead Fire Department and Brodhead EMS responded to the W400 block of Stateline Rd, Town of Spring Grove, for a report of a single vehicle crash.
The driver was identified as John J Mahlkuch, 22, of Brodhead. Mahlkuch reported he was northbound on Best Rd (IL), when he failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection. Mahlkuch entered the North ditch where his vehicle struck an embankment. Mahlkuch reported no injuries, reported wearing his seatbelt, and the airbags did deploy.
Mahlkuch’s vehicle sustained severe damages and was towed from the scene.
Mahlkuch was cited for fail to stop at a stop sign and operate without a valid license.
Officers with the Brodhead Police Department assisted on scene.
Traffic Crime:
At 4:33 PM, Deputies performed a traffic stop on a vehicle in the W1700 block of State Highway 11, Town of Spring Grove.
The driver was identified as Angelico Barios Cervates, 22, of Davis. Barios Cervates was cited for Operate without a valid license (2nd offense within 3 years).
