All persons arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The following incident occurred on Sunday, December 19, 2021:
OWI Arrest –
At approximately 2:43 AM, Deputies responded to the W8000 block of County HWY P, Town of Cadiz, for a report of a vehicle in the ditch.
Investigation determined that the operator, Cody M. Kuhlmyer, 23 of South Wayne, was traveling west on CTH P and failed to properly negotiate a left curve in the roadway. Cody’s vehicle exited the roadway, traveled down and embankment and became stuck in the ditch. Cody reported wearing his seatbelt, not being injured and there was no airbag deployment.
Further investigation resulted in Cody being placed under arrest for Operating While Under the Influence of Alcohol, 1st Offense. Cody was transported to the Green County Jail where he was released to a responsible party with a future court date. Cody was also cited for Failure to Maintain Control and for Open Intoxicants in his vehicle. The vehicle was towed from the scene due to disabling damage.
Traffic Crime –
At approximately 7:03 AM, Deputies responded to the area of N2700 County HWY M, Town of Jordan, for a report of a truck parked on the shoulder of the roadway with someone possibly slumped over the steering wheel.
Investigation determined that the operator, Nicholas A. Puckett, 22 of Monticello, had fallen asleep in his vehicle. Nicholas has a suspended license and was subsequently issued a citation for Operating without a Valid License, 2nd offense within three years. Nicholas was released to a valid driver with a future court appearance date.
