2021 Sheriff's Department Press Releases Posted on December 28, 2021

All persons arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. 

The following incident occurred on Monday, December 27, 2021: 

OWI Arrest –  

At approximately 4:39 AM, Deputies and Browntown First Response, responded to the N1200 block of West River Rd., Town of Cadiz, for a report of a vehicle sitting in the roadway.  

Investigation revealed the operator, David L. Webb, 29 of Browntown, to be sleeping in the driver seat. Further investigation resulted in David being placed under arrest for Operating While Under the Influence, 3rd Offense. David was also cited for Operating After revocation and Improper Parking/Standing in the Roadway. David was transported to the Green County Jail where he was held pending his initial appearance or posting of his bond.  

Motor Vehicle Crash with Injury –  

At approximately 7:47 AM, Deputies, the Monroe Rural Fire Department, Monroe EMS, and Monroe Paramedics, responded to the N4500 block of County Highway J, Town of Monroe, for a one vehicle rollover crash with injury.  

Investigation determined that the operator, Scott A Johnson, 49 of Mount Morris, IL, was traveling north on CTH J when he lost control on a slush covered area of the roadway. Scott’s vehicle entered the dich and traveled down an embankment, where it overturned landing on it’s wheels. Scott reported wearing his seatbelt and there was no airbag deployment. Scott noted having head and chest pain and was transported by Green County EMS to be evaluated. The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.  

Motor Vehicle Crash with Injury –  

At approximately 8:24 AM, Deputies responded to the W9600 block of County Highway Y, Town of Jordan, after receiving a report from the Green County Highway Department that there was an abandoned vehicle with damage in this area.  

Investigation revealed the vehicle had been operated by Tyler J. Adams, 22 of Monroe, at the time of the crash. Tyler failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, entered and embankment and struck a sign. The sign, along with the windshield of the truck, were broken. Tyler sustained injuries during the crash and was driven from the scene by an unknown driver to seek medical attention.  

Tyler was subsequently issued citations for Failure to Notify Law Enforcement of a Crash, Failure to Maintain Control and no Motor Vehicle Liability Insurance.
