Motor Vehicle Crash - Property Damage

At 4:43 PM, Deputies responded to the N5600 block of STH 69, in the Town of Washington, for a single vehicle crash.  The investigation found that Robin L. Nicholson, 73, of Forreston (IL), was traveling south when he fell asleep and then he lost control of his vehicle.  The vehicle then entered the north ditch, struck a roadsign, and then came to a rest in a field.  Nicholson advised that he was uninjured and wearing his seatbelt.  The vehicle sustained disabling damage, with no airbag deployment, and was later towed from the scene.  

Drug/Narcotic Violation

At 9:00 PM, Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation in the W2800 block of STH 92, in the Town of Exeter.  The investigation resulted in the driver, Larry K. Alcantara, 18, of Belleville, being cited for Possession of Marijuana.  Alcantara was later released pending court.
