Motor Vehicle Crash - Property Damage

At 5:22 AM, Deputies responded to the N6300 block of STH 69, in the Town of Mt. Pleasant, for a two vehicle crash.  The investigation found that a semi truck and trailer, driven by Laurence L. Horstmeier II, 60, of Arena, WI was traveling southbound when a gust of wind caused his semi truck and trailer to overturn.  A semi truck and trailer, driven by Phillip E. Baumgartner, 66, of Monroe, WI was traveling northbound and then collided with the overturned trailer attached to Horstmeier’s vehicle due to it laying in the northbound lane of travel.  Both parties advised they were wearing their seatbelts and were uninjured.  Both semi trucks sustained disabling damage, with no airbag deployment, and were towed from the scene.

At 6:44 AM, Deputies responded to the W7400 block of CTH P, in the Town of Cadiz, for a single vehicle crash.  The investigation found that a vehicle driven by Christin M. Brennen, 58, of Browntown, was traveling eastbound when she observed a tree laying in the road.  Brennen advised she attempted to take evasive action, but collided with the tree.  Brennen advised that she was wearing her seatbelt and was uninjured.  Brennen’s vehicle sustained disabling damage, with no airbag deployment, and was later towed.
