RURAL ALBANY MAN ARRESTED AND CHARGED FOR CHILD SEX CRIMES
In February 2026 the Green County Sheriff’s Office received information regarding incidents of Child Enticement and Child Sexual Assault reported to have taken place within rural Green County in the Town of Albany years prior. Due to the nature of the alleged crimes, the Green County Sheriff’s Office Detective Division was assigned to conduct further investigation. The Green County Sheriff’s Office collaborated with the City of Janesville Police Department.
As the investigation continued probable cause was developed to support the arrest of DAVID ANDREW CHRISTOPER EDMONDSON, 30, of rural Albany for child sex crimes. On Wednesday, April 1, 2026 criminal charges were officially issued against EDMONDSON under Green County Court case number 2026CF53 in which he was charged with;
One count of 1st Degree Child Sex Assault - Sexual Contact or Sexual Intercourse w/ Person under Age of 13 contrary to Wisconsin State Statute 948.02(1)(e) (This is a Class B Felony)
Three counts of Child Enticement - Expose Sex Organ, contrary to Wisconsin State Statute 948.07(3) (This is a Class D Felony).
Members of the Green County Sheriff’s Office arrested EDMONDSON at his rural Green County residence on Thursday, April 2, 2026. Following his arrest, EDMONDSON was transported to the Green County Jail where he was held without bond pending the initial appearance in Green County Circuit Court.
On Monday, April 6, 2026 EDMONDSON appeared in Green County Circuit Court for an initial appearance. The Circuit Court imposed a combination cash bond ($10,000) and signature bond ($15,000). EDMONDSON posted the required bond on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 and is no longer in the custody of the Green County Sheriff's Office.
