The following events occurred on October 27, 2025:
All persons arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
"Pursuant to the directive of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, as found in Supreme Court Rule 20:3.6, Trial Publicity, you are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.”
MVC - Personal Injury:
At 5:45 AM, Deputies along with Green County EMS and Juda Fire Department responded to the W2900 block of STH 11, Town of Jefferson, for a single vehicle accident. Trevor A Smith, 26, Monroe, was eastbound when he entered the gravel shoulder on the South side of the road. Smith reported losing control, collided with a ditch, crossed over CTH S, and rolled before coming to rest in a crop field. Smith reported sustaining injuries, reported not wearing his seatbelt, and airbag deployment. Smith was transported via EMS for further medical evaluation.
Smith's vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Smith was cited for Operate without a Valid DL, Failure to Maintain Control of Vehicle, Operator Not Wearing Seatbelt, and Non-Registration of an Auto. Smith was released with a court date.
MVC - Personal Injury:
At 8:22 AM, Deputies along with Brodhead Fire Department, Brodhead EMS, and Albany EMS responded to the N3700 block of CTH E, Town of Decatur, for a two vehicle accident. Richard M Leitzen, 78, Brodhead, was northbound when a southbound vehicle operated by Thomas C Woodruff, 75, Brodhead, crossed the centerline and into the northbound lane. Woodruff's vehicle collided with Leitzen's vehicle.
Both Leitzen and Woodruff had injuries and were transported via EMS. Leitzen and Woodruff both reported wearing their seatbelts. Leitzen's airbag deployed while Woodruff's airbags did not. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage and were towed from the scene.
Woodruff was cited for operating left of center and released with a court date.
MVC - Property Damage:
At 10:40 PM, Deputies responded to the N6700 block of English Settlement Rd, Town of Albany, for a single vehicle crash. Kalya Elmer, 34, Albany, was northbound when she swerved to miss the deer in the roadway. Elmer crossed the center line and crashed into the east ditch. The vehicle sustained disabling damage with airbag deployment. Elmer reported wearing her seatbelt and was uninjured. The vehicle remained at the scene and will be removed at a later time.
