2025 Sheriff's Office Press Releases Posted on October 19, 2025

The following events occurred on  October 18, 2025:

All persons arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

"Pursuant to the directive of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, as found in Supreme Court Rule 20:3.6, Trial Publicity, you are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.”


Drug/Narcotic Violation:

At 12:09 AM, Deputies had conducted a line-meet with Dane County Deputies for a Green County warrant arrest of Reegan Camile Olson, 24, Oregon.  Olson was found to be in possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia.  She was jailed on the warrant, and charged with possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia.


MVC - Property Damage:

At 11:22 PM, Deputies responded to a vehicle vs parked vehicle in the 200 block of N Mechanic St/STH 59, Village of Albany.  Gary L Burkhalter, 77, Monroe, was southbound when he swerved to miss a cat in the roadway.  Burkhalter struck the rear end of an unoccupied legally parked vehicle owned by Brian S Hauri, 52, Brodhead.  Burkhalter’s vehicle sustained functional passenger side front end damage, with no airbag deployment.  Burkhalter and his passenger both reported wearing their seatbelts and were uninjured.  Their vehicle was driven from the scene.  Hauri’s vehicle sustained minor driver’s side rear corner damage, with no airbag deployment.  The vehicle remained on scene.


MVC - Personal Injury:

At 11:26 PM, Deputies, along with Brodhead FD and EMS, responded to a motorcycle crash with injuries in the N4800 block of STH 104, Town of Decatur.  Phillip H Stietz, 70, Albany, was southbound when he lost control, crossed the center line and entered the east ditch, where the bike overturned.  The motorcycle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.  Stietz was wearing a helmet and safety equipment, and sustained injuries.  He was transported to an area hospital via EMS.
