Accident-PD/ OWI

At 4:06 PM, Deputies, along with Evansville PD, Rock County Sheriff's Office, Evansville First Response/EMS, responded to the N9000 blk of STH 104, Town of Brooklyn, for a two vehicle crash.  Investigation found a vehicle, operated by Ernest J. Newel, 50 of Evansville, was traveling southbound at a high rate of speed when he rear ended another south bound vehicle, operated by Zackery J. Riddle, 36 of Brooklyn. Newel was not injured and reported wearing his seatbelt. Newel's vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Riddle and passengers reported wearing their seatbelts and not being injured. Riddle’s vehicle sustained functional damage and was driven from the scene. Newel was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated - 7th Offense. Newel is being held at the Green County Jail pending court.
