The following events occurred on December 22, 2023:

ACCIDENT - PI

At 12:05 PM, Deputies responded to a single vehicle crash in the W2500 block of CTH EE, in the Town of Mount Pleasant. Joe H. River, age 19 of Platteville, was traveling east when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. The vehicle entered the south ditch and into a field. River reported wearing his seatbelt and sustained possible minor injuries.  The vehicle sustained functional damage to the front end, with no airbag deployment. River was warned for failure to maintain control.

DOMESTIC ABUSE

At 3:39 PM, Deputies responded to 400 block of 2nd St., in the Village of Albany, for a domestic abuse incident.  The investigation resulted in Daniel G. Benkert, age 37, of Albany being placed under arrest for Battery (domestic related) and two counts of Disorderly Conduct, one of which was domestic related.   Daniel was later incarcerated at the Green County Jail pending an initial court appearance.
