The following events occurred on December 17, 2023:
All person’s arrested or cited are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH-PROPERTY DAMAGE:
At 10:25 a.m., Deputies responded to the intersection of East Park Avenue and South Garfield Street, in the Village of Monticello, for a two-vehicle crash with no injuries. Investigation revealed that a vehicle operated by Dylan D. Syvrud, 30 of Monticello, failed to yield the right of way and collided with a westbound vehicle. Syvrud reported no injuries, was wearing his seatbelt, and the airbags did not deploy. Syvrud’s vehicle sustained functional damage and was driven from the scene.
The other vehicle was operated by Jacob T. Trumpy-Stumlin, 23 of Black River Falls. Trumpy-Stumlin reported no injuries, was wearing his seatbelt, and the airbags did not deploy. Trumpy-Stumlin’s vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH-INJURY:
At 4:38 p.m., Deputies responded to the W8100 block of State Highway 81, in the Town of Jordan for a car versus deer crash. Investigation revealed a vehicle operated by Lizette M. Brunker, 50 of Blanchardville was traveling eastbound when a deer entered the roadway and collided with her vehicle. Brunker reported non-life-threatening injuries, was wearing her seatbelt, and the airbags deployed. Brunker’s vehicle sustained functional damage and was driven from the scene.
OWI:
At 6:17 p.m., Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a driver’s license violation, in the N7900 block of Valley View Road, in the Town of New Glarus. Investigation resulted in the operator, James M. Schwartz, 18 of Evansville, being arrested for Operating While Under the Influence (1st-Alcohol). Schwartz was further cited for Absolute Sobriety and Operating After Suspension. Schwartz was released pending court.
