The following incident occurred on Thursday, December 01, 2022:
OWI Arrest –
At approximately 8:45 PM, Deputies responded to the N6800 block of State Highway 104, Town of Albany, for a report of a southbound vehicle traveling at an extremely slow rate of speed with the driver slumped over the wheel. Deputies located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. While attempting to speak with the driver, later identified as Scott D. Phillips, 50 of Evansville, Scott fled from the scene in his vehicle at approximately 10 MPH. Shortly after fleeing from the stop location, Scott traveled off of the roadway and entered a field on the west side of the roadway where his vehicle came to a stop.
Scott was then placed under arrest for Operating While Under the Influence of Alcohol – 1st Offense, Knowingly Fleeing an Officer, and Resisting Arrest. Scott was also cited for Impeding Traffic by Slow Speed, Operating Left of Center and Failure to Maintain Control of his Vehicle. Scott was transported to the Green County Jail where he will be held pending his initial court appearance.
