The following incident occurred on Sunday, November 13, 2022:
Motor Vehicle Crash with Injury –
At approximately 5:25 PM, Deputies responded to the N4500 block of County Highway E, Town of Decatur, for a car versus deer crash with injury. Investigation determined the operator, Jessica L. Sandlin, 36 of Brodhead, was traveling on CTH E, when a deer entered the roadway. Jessica was unable to avoid the deer and struck it with the driver side of her vehicle causing the window to shatter.
Jessica reported wearing her seatbelt and there was no airbag deployment. Jessica sustained non-life-threatening injuries from the shattered glass and declined medical treatment. The car was driven from the scene.
Possession of THC –
At approximately 1:00 AM, Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 600 block of W. 21st St., City of Monroe. The traffic stop resulted in the operator, Austyn C.W. Southall, 22 of Monroe, being cited for Possession of THC – Less than 25 Grams. Austyn was released with a future court date.
