A Message from Green County Public Health

Green County Public Health is invested in preventing the spread of COVID-19. Through contact tracing, community education, planning, and working in collaboration with other organizations in Green County, GCPH is working to slow the spread. Community members of Green County can help in keeping our community safe and healthy by practicing these key behaviors:

- Keep 6 feet apart from others
- Wash your hands
- Stay home when sick

About COVID-19

The novel coronavirus first appeared in China in 2019. This new virus was similar to SARS-CoV so it was named SARS-CoV-2. The disease caused by the virus was named COVID-19 (CoronaVIrusDisease-2019) to indicate that it was discovered in 2019. SARS-CoV-2 is a respiratory virus. Confirmed cases of the virus began to appear in the United States early in 2020.

- Fever or chills
- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Fatigue
- Muscle or body aches
- Headache
- New loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat
- Congestion or runny nose
- Nausea or vomiting
- Diarrhea
