Information and Services

• Marriage Licenses (PDF) (Applications accepted Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to Noon and 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Closed from Noon to 1:30 p.m.) The County Clerk's office will NOT be processing Marriage License Applications on 12/31/2026.  Please plan accordingly.  There will be no exceptions to this.
  • Birth certificates that are in languages other than English will need to be translated into English and a Translator Statement is required with the Marriage License Application. 
• Child Labor Permit: The County Clerk's Office NO LONGER ISSUES WORK PERMITS.  Parents must now visit the Equal Rights Division site at: 
  https://dwd.wisconsin.gov/er/laborstandards/workpermit/default.htm
• Dog Licenses  - Must be obtained through your local municipal treasurer.

County Board

The County Clerk is the Clerk to the County Board. Actions taken at Board meetings are published monthly in the Monroe Times and on this website under Agendas and Minutes. The County clerk also has available to the public the following:

• County Board Resolutions and Ordinances
• 2026 Meeting Schedule
• Prepare, Publish and Post Meeting Agendas & Minutes for the County Board and some committees
• Maintain Official County Board and Committee Records
• Annual Department Reports
