COVID-19

In response to the Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, the Corporation Counsel’s office will be taking the necessary steps to protect the health and safety of our visitors and staff while doing our part to assist in minimizing the spread.

The Corporation Counsel represents the County of Green and not individual members of the public.  The Corporation Counsel’s office prosecutes and defends civil actions in which the County is a party and provides legal advice to the County. Statutes require that the Corporation Counsel represent the interest of the public in all mental commitments and certain guardianship and protective placement cases. In addition to these cases, the Corporation Counsel's office represents the State of Wisconsin in paternity establishment and child support enforcement.  The Corporation Counsel’s office also handles collections of various fees owed to the County including guardian ad litem and court-appointed counsel fees.
